How Our Soaps Are Made: The Hot Process Way
At Simply Made by Jodie, we take pride in crafting our soaps using the traditional hot process method. This technique ensures our soaps are luxurious, gentle on the skin, and rich in natural goodness.

Ingredients: We start with high-quality ingredients, including oils, fats (like grass-fed tallow), and lye.

Mixing: The oils and fats are melted and combined with a lye solution. This mixture undergoes a chemical reaction called saponification.

Heating: The mixture is then heated in a slow cooker. This step speeds up the saponification process, making the soap ready faster.

Cooking: As the mixture cooks, it thickens into a gel-like consistency. This usually takes about 1-2 hours.

Additives: Once the soap reaches the "gel phase," we add beneficial ingredients like oats, honey, and essential oils for fragrance and extra skin benefits.

Molding: The hot soap mixture is poured into molds and allowed to cool and harden.

Cutting and Curing: After cooling, the soap is cut into bars. Even though it's technically ready to use, we let it cure for a week or more to ensure a harder, longer-lasting bar.
